About Temple

Introduction

The Sri Karuppasamy Temple in Veeravanallur was constructed over 150 years ago by our grandfather, the late Sri N. Boominathan Achary. They built the temple to ensure the good health, prosperity, and spiritual well-being of our family and future generations. Originally, our ancestors resided in Veeravanallur village before later relocating to Tirunelveli Junction. For generations, the temple has remained a cornerstone of our community’s devotion and cultural heritage.

Temple Deity & Worship

The Sri Karuppasamy Temple is located at the entrance of the main Sri Mudaliyar Madha Kovil in Veeravanallur. Daily poojas, rituals, and festival celebrations are conducted regularly to honour the deity.

Evolution Over Time

The Sri Karuppasamy Thirukovil Trust was established in 2009 to oversee the temple’s activities and upkeep. Since then, the Trust has been organizing the annual Shivaratri festival without interruption, serving prasadam to approximately 300 devotees each year. Trust members and families contribute generously towards the arrangements for these poojas.

In 2019, the temple was reconstructed by Sri Sabapathy Subbaiah in accordance with Agama Shastra principles, and the Kumbhabhishekam ceremony was performed on 7th February 2020 (Friday). Ongoing maintenance such as painting, repairs, and improvements continues to be managed by the Trust.

Conclusion

This temple stands not only as a symbol of devotion but also as a living testament to our family’s enduring commitment to preserving dharma and tradition. We believe that the spirits of our ancestors continue to dwell here, and we take immense pride in upholding and nurturing this sacred legacy.
